Volunteer Position Overview:

The WordPress Product Manager plays a crucial role in managing the lifecycle of WordPress-related products, ensuring their alignment with business goals. This position involves a blend of project management, product development and full-stack programming.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the product development lifecycle from concept to launch, collaborating with stakeholders to define product vision, goals, and success metrics.
• Conduct market research and analysis to identify customer needs, market trends, and competitive landscape, translating insights into actionable product strategies.
• Define and prioritize product features and enhancements based on customer feedback, business requirements, and technical feasibility.

• • Organize and manage web development making site updates, structural and aesthetic

  • Verifying usability and optimization for sites, landing pages, and forms, optimizing SEO

  • Ensure high-performance and availability, and manage all technical aspects of the CMS

  • Custom WP themes when absolutely required (most work is done using Elementor)

  • Assist with making our WordPress site integrate with Social Media to maximize automation.

  • Update Plugins and WordPress versions to protect the security of the site.

• Develop and maintain the product roadmap, ensuring alignment with business priorities and strategic goals.
• Work closely with engineering, design, and quality assurance teams to define product requirements, provide clear direction, and drive execution.
• Monitor project timelines, milestones, and deliverables, identifying risks and implementing mitigation plans to ensure on-time delivery and product quality.
• Analyze product performance and user feedback, iterating on features and functionality to continuously improve the product experience.
• Act as a product evangelist, representing the product internally and externally, and building strong relationships with stakeholders.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field
• Proven experience (5 years) in product management, preferably in the WordPress ecosystem.
• Experience in software development or web development
• In-depth knowledge of WordPress platform capabilities, plugins, themes, and related technologies.
• Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and coordinate cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies and tools such as JIRA or Trello.
• Understanding of user experience (UX) design principles and best practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Analytical mindset with proficiency in data-driven decision-making and performance analysis.
