Opportunities |
Run a Children's Book DriveWe rely on volunteers to organize children's book drives so we can keep giving away new and like-new, culturally relevant, high interest books to children who need them in the Greater Bay Area and beyond. You can run a drive for any duration of your choosing-some last only a few hours at a specific event, others take weeks, months, or are ongoing-with as many volunteers as you care to involve. It's entirely up to you! Visit childrensbookproject.org/give-books/ for our donation guidelines and procedures, and click on Organize a Book Drive at the bottom of that page for more details. Thank you!

About us | Since 1992, Children’s Book Project has given away over 3.16 million books to Title 1 schools, public health clinics, shelters, public housing, community organizations, and others serving hundreds of thousands of under-resourced children throughout 35 California counties. Educators, caseworkers, and community service providers visit our Book Bank in San Francisco year-round to select the free books they need for the children they serve. Literacy attainment is directly tied to academic achievement and lifetime outcomes, yet children in economically disadvantaged communities do not have the same access to books as their more affluent peers. Children’s Book Project is committed to closing the opportunity gap and lifting up our community by raising readers. |
